MRT & UGL : Testing & Commissioning Works

The 9.5km Underground is part of the MRT SBK Line connectivity. It was set up to help Malaysia’s National Land Transport Authorities fulfill the country’s goal of improving the public transport infrastructure.

MMC-Gamuda KVMRT leads the Project and is the Main Contractor. Global Power Test (GPT) was awarded the Testing & Commissioning (T&C) work which comprises 9.5 kilometres of double bored tunnels, seven underground stations, shafts, switchboxes and a cut-and-cover ramps to the surface. GPT is to manage contracts of eight packages.

The T&C work includes civil works such as tunnels and underground stations, surface and elevated guide way and stations, emergency and ventilation shafts as well as transportation systems, related infrastructure such as new tracks, Signaling system, traction power system, Tele and Radio communication, Stations, Depots and Structures, Tracks, contact line structures, High and Low Voltage Installations, Tele, Alarm and Communication facilities, as well as technical facilities for Fire Safety and Evacuation.
